ZIP Interview; RAINER JUDD ABOUT DONALD AND MARFA VOICES

    02 July 2011

AN INTIMATE CONVERSATION WITH RAINER JUDD

Friday morning 9 am. The sun was shining in NYC´s Meatpacking District  and so did Rainer Judd. Although she had to get up at 6 am in the morning, because Rainer was about to finish a writing, she seemed so fresh and positive when we meet at David Zwirner´s Gallery for our interview. And she even brought her cute dog Nandhi, who welcomed us by wagging its tail.

I talked with Rainer Judd about the life with her dad, the world famous artist Donald Judd and about relation ships. How she could find her own path in this creative atmosphere she grew up. And about her moving as a child from NYC Spring Street 101, a beautiful old cast iron building which was working and living space for the whole family at the same time, to the small laid back town Marfa in Texas, which became the second residence of Rainer, her brother and Donald Judd. This is the famous place where Rainer Judd´s dad found his creative freedom in the sense of combining space and nature, and where she and her brother could be kids, free and full of enthusiasm.
