Twenty-five of the world’s most renowned  artists have donated  26 works, most of them created especially for the event of the year -  The art auction at Christie’sArtists for Haiti“, organized by actor and director Ben Stiller and gallerist and art-buyer David Zwirner on Thursday September 22nd at 7pm .

Zwirner and his friend Ben Stiller put all their effort and heart together to bring this huge and amazing project alive. The goal: to help children in need! `We want to make a change` said David Zwirner.

After the massive earthquake in Haiti one and a half years ago the country needs help to be rebuilt, since it took nearly 230.000 lives, injured over 300.000 people and left over a million homeless and displaced.  And isn´t it the most beautiful way to help through something as beautiful as art?  David Zwirner explains straightforward that he wanted that people receive something for their money in order to support this project.  And so the idea came up to gather some of the best artists of our time and hold an auction.  100% of the proceeds from the sale will go directly to support nonprofit organizations and NGOs that are already performing extraordinary work in Haiti. Schools will be built for the children were they can grow up in a safe environment, Zwirner said. Support also comes from Bill Clinton who launched the Clinton Foundation Haiti Fund in 2010. `Haiti has held a special place in my heart for more than three decades` he says. `I have been impressed by The Stiller Foundation´s commitment to permanent, sustainable school development in Haiti and I am proud to join Ben Stiller and David Zwirner as co-host for the Gala celebrating Artists for Haiti. David Zwirner is also proud of his artists and their art pieces. There’s a story behind each piece and he knows them all. So detailed and with love in every detail!
