    MAGICAL & MYSTERIOUS - ALBERTO ZAMBELLI`S S/S19 COLLECTION

    01 November 2018

TRIBUTE TO ANTONIO CANOVA FOR THE COLLECTION S/S 2019 OF ALBERTO ZAMBELLI

    By Franco Lorenzon

"Everything has its origin in the beginning, from a pure and uncontaminated nature that is processed and brightened to a time when it becomes marble, so perfect that it reflects the light in material reverberations. Each dress acquires a primordial purity, new, white, celebrating in all its smokescreens this colour that changes, but equal to itself as in the works of Antonio Canova".

These are the words of Alberto Zambelli, to describe his new collection S/S 2019 presented during the Milan Fashion Week.

The anatomies are perfect and the gestures measured as if we were in front of neoclassical statues. The forms and volumes so unrelated to the presence of color develop freely and the distilled white exalts every movement. The tailoring emerges in all its strength and gives life to elaborate structures that do not build rigid architectures but that at every step can give soul to the dress.

Everything seems to herald something, and each element is charged with expectation. We find ourselves in front of an immediate moment before a kiss in which everything is filled with a new energy. Even the white seems to have been transformed into a natural-supernatural role filled with silvery reflections similar to those emanating from the moon.

This collection is strongly influenced by the "sculptural" inspiration of the famous artist Canova. The shades of white range from chalk, lime, rock and lunar. Silver touches give a more magical and mysterious allure to the palette. Among the shapes that triumph, we find: the tunic, kimono and an egg. A skilful game of mini, midi and maxi lengths are distributed among all the items in the collection. The materials used include viscous liquid and techno-silver.

A collection full of emphasis, but made by a contemporary spirit, perfect for the next S/S 2019.
