    THE SCOTTISH WAY

    04 February 2020

Of all the trends of the season, it is perhaps the one that best interprets the winter climate: tartan. Let's discover the 8 must-have pieces in the wardrobe to be a real trend setter.

    THE TRANSFORMIST DRESS

This can only be in the most classic of the Scottish on a red background, but with a soul that changes according to the needs and occasions of use. Roberta Einer convinces us with its bag version and floral appliqués on the wrists. The advantage of a model like this? If worn during the day with a black turtleneck or blazer, it becomes the perfect garment for any day wear circumstance.  A last-minute dinner is waiting for you and you don't have time to go home to change? Transform it into a sunset dress with a high belt, sandals or iridescent boots and a multi-twist necklace that brings back the sparkle of the belt and shoe. You'll be the coolest in the place!

A SCARF AND A CAP, THE PASSEPARTOUT ACCESSORIES OF THE PARTIES

Two of the fashion accessories of the moment: cap and scarf. On a woman, they always manage to give a special twist. This is the detail that wins them all, a warm Scottish scarf. The most classic (and timeless) of Fred Perry, can only be made of wool with small rounded fringes at both ends. Perfect when combined with black, super glam with red, extremely chic with grey and white. Among the trends to imitate, you can't miss a sporty look with the baseball cap in coated woolen cloth signed by Don. Very trendy, especially when combined with mix & match outfits or with looks inspired by gymnastic style. Confirming that details always make the difference.

THE IDEA FOR YOUNGER WOMEN? A SNEAKER

In addition to the now very long list of accessories infected by this trend, even the comfortable and practical sneakers are tempted by the charm check. For many it will be a stroke of lightning, especially for those who usually combine a fashionable twist with a basic shoe like the sneaker. Our choice has fallen on the proposal of Barracuda, made in Scottish fabric and leather, with white maxi para, perfect to downplay a serious formal look or to give a cool touch with a jeans and unstructured coat. We wouldn't be surprised if even lovers of sporty/chic style wanted to wear it with jackets and down jackets with a great cold effect or contrasting them with maxi skirts or metropolitan gypsy skirts. For sure, those who do not like to be taken for granted, will always wear it.

EVEN UNDERWEAR DOESN'T ESCAPE THE SCOTTISH BRIO

When it comes to lingerie, men are among the first admirers, while women buy it because they are passionate about this type of clothing. We could say that the pleasure of undressing coincides with wearing special underwear. Chantal Thomass, one of the masters of this, once again amazes us this season with a balcony bra (part of a suit) that will win over both the wearer and the beholder. It is a model made in the most classic Scottish style, with a profile reminiscent of the lapels of a contrasting black collar. A piece for those who feel protagonist of the scene, as seductive in a private situation as it is super fashionable if worn under a black blazer for an aperitif. Never before has it been the winning choice in the evening.

FOR THE BIJOU, BET ON FLASHY EARRINGS

One of the must that characterizes the coolest jewelry and bijou are shapes, colors and materials that hardly go unnoticed. A trend that has been present for a few seasons now and is reflected especially among the most aggressive fashion addicts and influencers. Bijou Brigitte marries the trend with its chandelier earrings, in plexiglass in the shape of a chain, flame red with black veins. The beauty of these accessories is that they characterize any outfit, from the most classic to the most glamorous, they have that touch of irony seen on many important catwalks. The secret to avoid style mistakes? Never exceed with several pieces in a single outfit. One is enough to get the "coup de theatre" you may be looking for.

THE SMART PIECE? THE PLAID JACKET IN ALL ITS FORMS

There are those who prefer it sideways, those who prefer the over model, others do not give up the tailored cut, the only common denominator: that it is a jacket. This garment is absolutely one of the protagonists of the season, alone but also as a suit combined with a skirt or pants. We could call it one of the passepartout garments of the women's wardrobe. Reasons not to give it up? It dresses and renders any outfit, characterful and lends itself to many occasions. Just choose the line and shape best suited to your commitment. Our preference has fallen on the model of Cannella, vaguely retro with maxi checks and double-breasted closure. Do you want to make it even more glamorous? Wear it with a high black belt. The chic effect is guaranteed.

COMFORT AT HOME IS (ALSO) A PIN-UP SHORTS

The parties as well as the canonical parties and dinners also takes us to a scenario, where it is rigorously considered as relaxation. What better way than to wear in the warmth of your own home a garment that in addition to being comfortable is also nice to look at. The idea that has captivated us most of all is signed by Yamamay: a Scottish shorts with ruffles on the bottom and drawstring waist to be tied with a bow. The most fashion-conscious will immediately recognize the style we're talking about and it became an era in the '50s, where starlets and pin-ups showed off this kind of shorts.
