UNIQLO & INES DE LA FRESSANGE COLLABORATE FOR THE FW 20/21 COLLECTION TO CELEBRATE THE FEMALE FREEDOM ICONS OF THE 70S

Global clothing retailer UNIQLO announces its latest collection in collaboration with global fashion icon Ines de la Fressange.

70S FASHION LEADERS AS A SOURCE OF INSPIRATION

For her collection with UNIQLO, Ines was inspired by people who represented women's freedom and independence in the 1970s. Model Jane Birkin, singer Francoise Madeleine Hardy became icons and symbols of women's liberation during that decade. The Fall/Winter 2020 collection pays tribute to their constant inspiration for women today. Ines recalls "In the 1970s, many women were determined to emancipate themselves from traditions. This new conquered freedom gave moa and their lives exciting new directions. "This season celebrates these pioneers of women's freedom."

    THREE MAIN THEMES

The first of three stylistic themes for this collection is Bohemian, inspired by the carefree culture of the 1970s, celebrating in a variety of pleated skirts and polka dot print paisley dresses. As befits the season, there is a range of knitwear and key pieces with folkloristic patterns. For the first time in the UNIQLO/INES DE LA FRESSANGE design collaboration there are items made with 3D Knit technology, seamless knitwear that offers exceptional comfort with vibrant patterns. The second theme is Neobourgeois, 100% silk blouses and dresses become essential elements of the wardrobe for sophisticated women, to be combined with mouton style jackets, long cadigans and culottes for casual occasions. The third theme is the Mannish style, adopted by many women in the 1970s. It includes coats, classic tweed jackets, corduroy trousers and other masculine-inspired essentials.
