AT THE LANZAROTE FASHION WEEKEND: A MEMORABLE TRIBUTE TO THE SPANISH FASHION DESIGNER ÁGATHA RUIZ DE LA PRADA

    Lanzarote, By Franco Lorenzon @nonsololook

Lanzarote Fashion Weekend has also this year filled the island with fashion and color during its second edition. Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada was the protagonist of this second edition, in which the lava caves of Jameos del Agua, a special place where nature reigns supreme, were the backdrop to the fashion show, to create an incomparable experience.

The fashion designer presented a journey through her work over the years in a retrospective collection where vintage pieces were presented, must-have pieces from the Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada foundation, which resumed life on the catwalk of the charming Jameos del Agua. These pieces have been accompanied by some of the most radical objects from the designer's latest collections: dresses that look like tires, balloons or garlands of flowers. Among the different looks, a canary yellow piece stands out in particular, bringing its own personality and telling its own story: a sumptuous rosette handmade from traditional silk by the spinners of El Paso, on the island of La Palma. The pieces that paraded had the striking and characteristic irony of the brand as the main theme, to which is impossible to remain indifferent. The participants were able to admire the collection in the incredible natural environment of Jameos del Agua, the lava caves that were transformed by the artist César Manrique, who respected the environment to transform it into the "best party room in the world".

Among those who did not give up the experience of a whole weekend of fashion, innovation and spectacular nature, there were the actresses Hiba Abouk and Marta Toené, the model Laura Ponte and Jorge Lòpez. This was an initiative during which the participants were able to enjoy not only a special and exclusive fashion event, with one of the most internationally known Spanish brands as the protagonist, but also the whole island of Lanzarote, a world leader in tourism sustainable and conservation of the UNESCO biosphere.

In addition to Jameos del Agua, Lanzarote Fashion Weekend has also included other exhibitions with local designers from Lanzarote Moda and Emprende Lanzarote Moda to show and tell their reality to the press and to national and international guests. Exceptional places like the castle of San José. The headquarters of the International Museum of Contemporary Art (IMCA) and the Casa-Museo del Campesino hosted these events.

Lanzarote Fashion Weekend is in its second edition, which is gaining more and more interest and prestige in the Spanish fashion scene. We say iOHLA!
