Between Pop Art & Craftsmanship - Ermanno Scervino

    17 June 2019

THIS IS THE NEW RESORT SS 2019 BY ERMANNO SCERVINO

    Milan, By Franco Lorenzon @nonsololook

ERMANNO SCERVINO’s Resort S.S. 2019 collection is characterised by the designer’s unmistakable sartorial touch and an inspiration stolen from Pop Art. A skillful play of couture in the contemporary everyday life. The collection’s leitmotif? Designs that are glamorous, dynamic and colorful.

The looks boost the atmosphere of 1970s London, feminine and with the typical streetstyle of the time. Shorts or light lace dresses are paired with fringed suede jackets or Mackintosh in fine Vichy. The canvas is reinterpreted with a sartorial twist to become chic outerwear. The leather, a rocker at heart, lightens and softens going from the jacket to the shirt, and is matched with tartan, used for sophisticated jackets or innovative kilt-trousers.

A pop taste, in the name of loud colors and jacquard, starts from street icons such as denim and T-shirts, made however in refined jacquard. But it also spills over the more precious pieces of garments, such as the bustier dresses in organza or the double-layer coats, which have fluo hues and an unprecedented kimono cut. The tuxedo itself becomes a pop statement: worn over a T-shirt, is colored with micro-floral prints.

Stripes are reinvented as feminine patterns on dresses and slips. Precious materials such as satin and cady line the softness of the loose-fitting trousers.

As always, a collection which stands out for the perfect fusion between the sartorial taste and the technology of the fabrics and materials used, all with a contemporary twist.

What more is there to say? You cannot buy class!
