INTERVIEW - JOSHUA FENU TALKS JF LONDON

    25 March 2019

SWINGING LONDON AND A COLLABORATION WITH EMILIO CAVALLINI FOR THE FW 2019-20 COLLECTION OF JF LONDON

One of the most successful events at the last Milano Fashion Week is certainly the presentation and party organized by JOSHUA FENU for its brand JF LONDON.

The main mood of the new Autumn-Winter 2019-20 collection is inspired by the '60s. JF LONDON draws inspiration from Swinging London, the era of wild dances, car races to the sound of Beatles and the legendary models with short hair.

The era of miniskirts and polka-dot stockings, of the most lively and amusing fantasies, a period of irreverence and a great sense of irony, of change and revolutions, of awakening, the same that JF LONDON wants to transmit with an amusing collection and with discotheque notes.

    Interview by Franco Lorenzon @nonsololook

Franco Lorenzon: How did your collaboration with Emilio Cavallini start?

Joshua Fenu: My collaboration was born from an idea of me and Bianca Cavallini (Emilio's daughter). We both love partnership and co-branding operations. The image of the new JF LONDON collection matched perfectly with the DNA of Emilio Cavallini.

F.L.: How does this F/W 2019-20 collection differ from the previous ones?

J.F.: This season we have chosen to retrace the atmosphere of London in the 60s, the so-called "Swinging London" characterized by a revolutionary wave, unique in the customs and traditions of music as well as fashion at that time. Among them: the legendary Biba London shop, the iconic model Twiggy, the patriotic Union Jack and the many colors. Novelties like: the introduction of the line "JF LONDON Divas" inspired by international divas and characterized by extreme quality and research in materials and workmanship. A special line for Red Carpet and Gala.

F.L.: Are there any JF LONDON pieces that have become essential over time?

J.F.: Of course, the "Union Jack" models with metal zips to simulate the shape of the UK flag, the "Bowie" models, characterized by our iconic lightning flash (we were the first to do so), and the " mirror" heel "Mirror Ball".

F.L.: What are the next goals on your agenda?

J.F.: The opening of other single-brand boutiques, first of all, in London.

F.L.: A dream that you would like to realize?

J.F.: Yes, to create a charity linked to the brand.

What more can we say, the next autumn-winter at JF LONDON will be marked by color, irony and the desire to live!
